about us

“Food is my biggest joy but was once my arch nemesis. The road to becoming a Nutritionist came from an abusive relationship with food and my body. I thought nutrition was about deprivation.

Now I know it's about adding in, not taking out - that's how balance is created.

I am so thankful to finally be able to enjoy and appreciate food across the board without guilt."

My story

Many individuals experience pain and anxiety about food and nutrition - you might be one of them. I know people often feel alone in their experience, but you’re not. I’ve been there.

Let me share my story with you.

From diet to disordered eating

I’m originally from the USA and grew up in a family who were permanently on one diet or another. That was during a time when ‘skinny’ was viewed as healthy and seemed to be everyone’s ultimate goal. I ate plenty of fruit and veg, but the healthy balance turned into an obsession which led to Orthorexia (the term used to describe a fixation with healthy ‘clean’ food). Unfortunately, this disordered eating then spiralled and became anorexia and bulimia.

When I went to college, I put on weight because of the lifestyle, as most students do. My thyroid levels were terrible, my metabolism was slow and I began to experience gut and skin issues. My mental health suffered too, because I had connected my identity and value with my size and weight for a very long time.

I remember being at the gym one day and seeing a program that offered free advice from a dietitian. When I went for my appointment, I broke down, and told her about my eating patterns. That was the first time I started to address my eating disorders. It was an important step in the right direction.

Recovery and rediscovery

I started to learn how to add good foods into my diet rather than cutting everything out and I began to notice changes. I felt strong, my skin cleared up, my thyroid levels went back to normal, and I had energy. I had started to heal within myself, which allowed my body to let go of the excess weight without restriction.

It was hard, but it catalysed my move into the nutrition field. I began reading books and blogs and learned from coaches and dietitians about their fields of expertise. The more I discovered, the more I wanted to learn, so I changed my degree to study BSc in Nutrition and Food. It was like therapy, and it helped me to reclaim my positive relationship with food.

My nutrition mission

I’ve made it my mission to help people heal their relationship with food through science- backed and practical nutrition. For over a decade, it’s been my privilege to work with thousands of clients and help every one of them see food in a new light.

Success is about more than weight or measurements. It’s about how we feel, how we sleep, our relationships with others, our confidence, and our energy, rather than valuing a number. It’s about having the right tools and strategies to find pleasure in eating again.

As we get older our lives change, as do our environments. That can mean that our bodies change too. What worked for us a few years ago may not work now. We’re always learning about what our body is telling us and what it needs. Good intentions can turn bad, so it’s important to get professional advice and guidance.

I work closely with a wonderful network of professionals including physiotherapists, chiropractors and naturopaths. We share a wealth of knowledge and experience and I can also refer my clients for further help with these specialists if needed.

Nutrition works!

My relationship with food was abusive, but now it is a fun one! I love food, and food loves me back. I know what works well for my body and that knowledge is power.

If you want to experience the same food freedom, let me help you.

The travelling wife life

Charity and I love to travel and we’ve been lucky to explore many incredible destinations around the world. Our food choices are often inspired by all the delicious cuisines that we’ve experienced - we know the importance of variety and taste! We practice healthy and balanced eating and never deprive ourselves of the food we enjoy.

Fuelling performance

I’ve always been active and played soccer throughout my life. I’ve hung up my boots now, but you’ll still find me building my strength and stamina at the gym or on a spin bike.

Thanks to Charity, I know how to fuel myself properly to support my athletic performance.
