Imposter Syndrome: Silencing your Inner Critic

Have you ever walked into a gym or met with a Nutritionist and felt out of place, or as if you didn’t belong?

“What am I doing here? I’m no yogi,” or “What was I thinking, trying to eat "healthy", I’ve always been and will always be sick, overweight, etc..."

This is the Imposter Syndrome of wellness. Beginners surrounded by healthy-looking strangers can be so overwhelming, that an urge to immediately flee back to a setting less daunting, and more comfortable -even if that comfortable context is an unhealthy lifestyle - overrides our pursuit of self-improvement. You are not alone.

What is Imposter Syndrome?

It commonly begins as a paralyzing fear of being “found out” that your achievements and successes are a sham, or somehow not really “yours.”. It affects intelligent and "all or nothing" types more than anyone.

“A feeling of phoniness in people who believe that they are not intelligent, capable or creative despite evidence of high achievement.”

This can create a world of tension and conflict not just in your mind, but also between you and your goals...

Tune in to learn how to silence that inner critic and to believe you can achieve and maintain your goals and status as a healthy, vibrant and capable person... that is you now and can continue to be you in the future
